Details:
I was taking out a new lens to test it out and the very first photo immediately saw this - thought there was a film on the lens! But no, it was a rainbow around the sun! Not sure exactly what atmospheric optics are shown here... I used several different apertures and here's the sun star results at F22 - at the Marquette Lighthouse in Marquette Michigan, and a few minutes after this, lake effect snow moved in.
