Details:
Our tour group on the Hurtigruten ship the m/s Nordnorge got a clear night and Northern Lights on March 10, as we sailed north of Svolvaer toward Harstad. They danced as we entered the Trollfjorden fjord by searchlight, a highlight of the cruise. There is no more scenic location on Earth than the Lofoten Islands to watch the Lights from!
The aurora was never bright to the eye, but was very photogenic and colourful to the camera.
These are all very short exposures of 1 to 2 seconds, with a fast f/1.8 14mm lens, to minimize blurring and trailing from the ship's motion. The camera was the Nikon D750 at ISO 6400.
