Details:
The brightest near-Earth asteroid of this year, about 300-meter large 2017 VR12 passes within 9' of spiral galaxy NGC 5012 in Coma Berenices at 08:10 UT on 2018 Mar. 06.
Distance to asteroid: 1.5 mln km (5 light sec).
Distance to galaxy: 38 Megaparsec (120 mln light years).
Distance to the brightest star near the left image border BD+23 2546 (V=10.2): 190 parsec (620 light years).
Each frame is the sum of three 60-sec unfiltered exposures with iTelescope.Net T11 instrument (0.50-m f/6.8 + CCD + f/4.5 focal reducer) in Mayhill, NM.
Asteroid was moving at 47" per minute and had the visual magnitude of 12.1. It will speed up to 54"/min and peak at 11.9m on Mar. 07, moving towards south through Virgo constellation.
