During a recent walk in a beautiful forest we noticed some interesting details on the inside of these icicle. We were wondering if we could get an explanation on how they formed

Hi Conor, I think what has happened here is that the Sun has melted the icicle a little bit and then its got cold again and that is why the ice has fractured and has lots of funny specks of air in it, I live in a very hot country so Im not an expect on what ice does in the wild, I hope this helps, keep looking for unusual things :-)
