Details:
The Kp and Bz indicators were both reading low values, but about midnight on Feb 11/12 what had been a very dim arc brightened considerably and provided a decent show here in Churchill, Manitoba. For about 90 minutes we had bright arcs and swirls with subtle but visible colour. By 1:30 am CST the display had dimmed to just a diffuse glow over most of the sky. Nevertheless, our aurora tour group at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre was very happy with the surprise show. It was the best display of the past week.
