Details:
This image was captured about 4 min prior to totality as observed in Tucson AZ as an 8 image stack varying by 0.3 stops using a Questar telescope and a Nikon D850. The 8 46 mp images were aligned, stacked and processed. The posted image is a much reduced jpg version of the original 280 mb TIF. The HDR stack brings up the variation and gradation of colors from the deep red of where the Moon is most immersed in the umbra to the blue ozone band visible just before totality.
