Here in Southeastern Pennsylvania the dark portion of the Earth's shadow, the umbra, barely touched the Lunar limb prior to Luna sinking blow the horizon. Still, it was quite easy to see that something was distinctly different about the appearance of our neighbor in space. I used an Orion Shorttube 80 and a Canon XS DSLR, ISO200, 1/100th second exposure to record the Moon hanging only a few degrees above the horizon being consumed by a pesky cloud.
