Details:
The thin young crescent Moon of 18 January was completely hidden by cloud for a full hour after sunset before becoming visible at the last minute through a thin letterbox gap between the cloud base and the horizon behind Chikanga Township, Mutare. The chances of catching this were slim, but patience, persistence and a good guess as to where the Moon might appear paid off. To record this event, which was barely visible to the naked eye, a sequence of 1 second exposures at ISO 1600 was taken and used to produce the accompanying time-lapse animation and mosaic. Camera: Tripod Mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in manual exposure mode.
