Details:
All of the Gigantic Jet events in this collection were captured from my house in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. The last GJ event I captured was on Sept 30, 2017, just 10 days after Hurricane Maria devastated my Island.
Also included here is an interesting poster that Steven Lazarus and Michael Splitt of the Florida Institute of Technology put together. I was amazed that they were able to learn so much about these events by just using satellite data.
Most of the GJs were captured over Tropical Storm Harvey back on Aug. 19, 2017, when it was just south of Puerto Rico.
Would be interesting if the numerous outbreaks of auroras this year also contributed to the numerous TLE events observed by my fellow observers in Europe,Australia,Asia,Japan,South America,Hawaii and the Continental US. I say this because solar and cosmic rays are known to contribute to our Global Electric Circuit.
Here is a link to all the GJ video clips I captured this year. Some have a question mark because there was not enough there to determine if it was indeed a Gigantic Jet: https://youtu.be/RQK1H1eYAfk
