Details:
As the Summer Solstice approaches the Sun sets closer to the foot of a large balancing rock on the right flank of Hospital Hill in Mutare as viewed from my veranda (lead mosaic). At extreme approach, as happened two days before solstice in December 2015, the last remnant of the setting Sun disappeared at the foot of that rock (second picture}. With just the right amount of cloud to filter and reflect the setting sunlight, yesterday’s sunset was beautiful. See also how an unusual diabolo shaped cloud over Hospital Hill (last picture) spectacularly reflects the last rays from the setting Sun 15 minutes after it had gone down. Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset scene mode up to x60 zoom magnification.
