Details:
Since I heard about the close approach of Phaethon on Spaceweather a few days back I was praying for clear skies over Ireland on the either the night of close approach or the night before, and lucky for me the sky was clear on the night before.. I had a bit of trouble finding Phaethon as all stars around it were of around the same magnitude and it was hard to see in the telescope, especially as the scope was pointing almost straight up for the first hour... I nearly gave up at one stage but knew clear skies don't happen often in Ireland especially when something is happening, so I stuck at it and in the end was rewarded...I was super happy to finally spot what look like a trailing star among the rest which were tracked and round.. success
I have inculded a link to timelapse also...
