Details:
After going through the files from December 4th – 6th G1 geomagnetic storm, finally I made a selection of shots below. The journey took me over 600 Km through 2 days of shooting SE of Mayerhorpe, East of DeBolt and last location, Kakwa area, all located in Alberta. The chase wasn’t an easy task due to massive clouds development which was advancing north, sometimes faster that I could drive and high winds, sometimes with close to 80 km/hrs Gusts….Despite the bright moon which practically ruined the show, we got some minor sub-storms very active and very bright where the aurora was stronger than the moon and I was able to get some decent shots. Please enjoy them. (Nikon D810, Nikkor 14-24mm 2.8, ISO 640, 1250, 1600 & 2000; 1.3, 1.6, 2, & 4 seconds exposure; 14mm, 20mm & 24mm, Mayerthorpe, DeBolt & Kakwa, Alberta, Canada).
