Details:
Shown in the photos are Mercury and Saturn, only 4.1° apart, just above Rio`s Tijuca Twin Peak. Brighter Mercury (m=-0.3), at 22°E elongation, is to the right of Saturn (m=0.5) and a bit lower. The pair is putting on a lovely display over the city at dusk and it will still be closer for a couple of days. Photos, shown in the order of decreasing zoom, were taken with a Sony DSC-HX300 camera at approximately 20:00 (UTC-2h). The waxing crescent Moon is also seen in the last photo.
