There was something on top of the arc that I had never seen before and was hoping you could explain it The two pics were taken 4 minutes apart. Photos were only re-sized, not photo-shopped.

Thats most certainly an internal lensflare from the Sun so it is not part of atmospheric halo.

...but apart from the lens flares, there are some real halo forms in addition to the circumzenithal arc indeed: I recognize the 22degs parhelia and a section of a faint 22degs ring.
