Details:
Following 3 nights of the worst weather imaginable for viewing the Northern Lights, I had still not given up hope of seeing the predicted G1-class geomagnetic storm displays and my unwavering patience and positivity was rewarded on November 8th as powerful auroras were filling the sky at 5pm despite the ominous weather conditions. It was the earliest I have ever seen auroras! This image was taken at a harbour in Gimsøysand, Lofoten Islands, Norway. Nikon D5 DSLR, 24mm f1.4 Nikon Lens, 5 seconds exposure, f1.4 aperture and ISO 800.
