Details:
While the Sun is currently devoid of any sunspots as the solar minimum continues, solar observers with H-Alpha telescopes still have solar prominences to observe and image. On Monday October 30th I was able to image a hedgerow prominence on the SE quadrant of the Sun along with a pair of prominences on the SW quadrant of the Sun. Each of these images consist of an average of 50 best frames from separate AVI videos of the surface and prominences. The resultant images were set as layers and then merged in Photoshop CS. False color was added to each of the monochrome images. DETAILS: TELESCOPE; 80mm f/6 triplet ED refractor equipped with 2x barlow. H-ALPHA FILTER: Solarscope 50mm Etalon with 20mm blocking filter. VIDEO CAMERA: Imaging Source DMK 31 AU03.AS Monochrome camera running @ 30 frames/second. ACQUISITION SOFTWARE: SharpCap PROCESSING SOFTWARE: AutoStakkert + Photoshop CS
