Details:
According to current ephemeris Comet C/2017 T1 Heinze will pass about 20 million miles from Earth in the early morning hours of 4 January 2018 when it will be about magnitude 9. The comet will be moving about 1/3 degree per hour across Earth's night sky. In these images the comet is about magnitude 17 and is 210 million miles from Earth. The comet has a short fan shaped tail above the coma.
