Details:
On the night of September 27th during the unexpected G3 geomagnetic storm I was out in Kakwa area struggling to keep up with the show, running two cameras, one was recording stills and one recording real time video. As we went further into the late hours of September 27th to be more precisely, at 11:59pm the sky exploded into a multitude of colors, swirling shapes and coronas. Was mesmerizing and utterly out of this world. What I witnessed cannot be describe in any words…. The climax of the entirely night lasted 5 minutes all together and ended up at 12:04 am subsiding to a more normal show. The intensity and ferocity of the powerful show is hunting me down when I am looking back at it. The pictures below are a proof that Kakwa sky was once again a delightful, generous, generous host for the Lady Aurora ((Nikon D800, Nikkor 14-24mm 2.8, ISO 1250; 1.6 sec exposures; 14mm, Kakwa, Alberta, Canada).
