Details:
A fine display tonight, Sept 15, widely seen over western Canada. I was near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, northeast of Edmonton, shooting despite the lights from the nearby petrochemical plants illuminating the foreground. The Lights were bright early in the evening about 10 pm with bright nitrogen pink fringes. The curtains faded, returning briefly now and then over the next hour but the display seemed to have already moved into its post-sub-storm phase of flickering and pulsating "flames" over most of the northern sky reaching up to the zenith. The camera picked up reds amid the oxygen greens.
