Details:
These are images of the solar eclipse of August 21, 2017, as seen from Hiram, Ohio. The eclipse there was 79.8 percent at its peak, leaving a brilliant thin crescent in place of the full Sun at 2:32 PM EDT. One of these photos shows the partial eclipse at its peak, the other is a view as the Moon was covering the Sun. If screen resolution is high enough, the roughness of the Moon's limb can be seen against the solar disk. Canon EOS 50D with 800mm telephoto lens and AstroZap white light film filter.
