Words and pictures can not express the awe of this experience. My first solar eclipse was in Salem, Oregon, in 1979 - totally clouded out so only the eerie gray before and after darkness and the 360 degrees of sunset during totality. My wife and I are planning our trip to Texas in 2024.
Details: Nikon D5100 with AF-S Nikkor 55-300mm zoom at near 300 (photos are all cropped); white balance on daylight, F11, ISO 100, total eclipse at 1/320, 1/100, and 1/1000, and partial at 1/125 using Rainbow Symphony Solar Film and home-made filter holder.
