Details:
Finally the first aurora observation for Salla - Finnish Lapland in the new season 2017-2018. After almost 4 months waiting it was worth to stay awake and watch a super start of this new aurora season. All forecasts looked great, but actually there was nothing to see until about 01:15h.(Fin.Time)the sky overhead was decorated with a bright green bow, soon exploding into a colorful corona and other shapes. In the north-northeast the sky was still in the colors of the sunset, but the auroras were strong enough to give a beautiful contrast. Within half an hour the aurora colors faded out again.
