Perseids Meteor Shower composite image . Saturday, August 12, 2017. Looking northeast from Bowman Woods Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Top meteor streak (multi-colored) captured at 4:10 am, bottom left at 4:14, and bottom right at 4:30. Also visible is the constellation Perseus (top center), constellation Auriga (center), constellation Taurus (right of Auriga), Pleiades (above Taurus), and the -3.98 magnitude planet Venus at bottom center. Note the moonwash in the right portion of the image. Each image is a 20 second exposure at f/2.8, ISO 200 and 11mm focal length. Nikon D7200 DSLR camera, Tokina SD 11-16 F 2.8 (1F) DX II lens, Vanguard Alta Pro 263AT tripod with SBH-100 ballhead.
