Details:
The Ancient Bristlecone Forest in California is apparently a very popular spot for night sky photography during summer. After a short hike up the mountainside I found this bare, almost stoic tree that reached out for the galactic core. In the backdrop the snow capped Eastern Sierras were surprising visible long after moonset, likely illuminated by the night sky, airglow and ambient light pollution. Details: Sony A7S, 20mm, f/3.2, 20sec
