Details:
Photos of moon and planets at dusk with tripod-mounted Nikon Coolpix P600. Zoomed to an equivalent 550 mm in order to frame the conjunction of Jupiter and the moon in a single photo. The remaining images were shot with 1320 mm, one click back from full zoom. The inset images of Jupiter and moon demonstrate directly this difference in focal length. The shots of Saturn were enlarged for effect. The Saturn image with black background was taken with ISO-400 and 1/8th sec exposure, blue background with ISO-800 and 2 sec. Aperture setting was f/6.3 in both cases. Attempts to capture the Galilean moons and Titan were thwarted by incoming clouds, but it was still a good evening considering the very rainy summer we've been having.
