Details:
A week of very clear weather allowed photographs of the waning Moon to be taken at local sunrise (about 7 am) each morning from just after Full on 10 July to Third Quarter on the 17th. These were used to produce the accompanying interesting animation which shows the illuminated portion decreasing and apparent clockwise rotation as a result of having risen from near the southwestern horizon to almost directly overhead at the same time of day. Each photograph was taken using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 camera in intelligent auto mode, with maximum zoom magnification and the viewfinder gauge showing horizontal.
