Details:
In the late afternoon there was a lot of high cirrus swirling around the top of a dispersing anvil cloud as the sun set behind it. For a period of ten minutes a small upside down rainbow (Circumzenithal Arc) appeared in clearer sky almost directly overhead (first two pictures) while the sun was still visible through the cloud below (third picture). When the display was at its brightest, a fainter yellowish upwards facing Suncave Parry Arc could also be seen underneath the Circumzenithal Arc (last image). It was quite a surprise to see colored arcs developing in what was an otherwise dull sky. The photographs were taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 camera in sunset scenery mode.
