Details:
A few days after its closest approach to Earth, Venus is now starting to move away from us in its orbit, and thus becomes smaller in angular size, but its phase now starts to grow. We can now see it in the east just before sunrise. The visual changes are slow for now as Venus and Earth travel around the sun in almost parallel directions, but since Venus has a smaller orbit circumference, and it moves slightly faster than Earth in its orbit, it will soon move increasingly faster away from us. The image above was created from merging of 4 images. Each image was processed from a 15,000-frame video. Equipment: 16" SCT, f/10, ZWO ASI 178MM camera, Infrared filters (850nm and 685nm, the latter allows some visible red light as well). Very poor seeing (high clouds, haze and strong wind).
