Details:
First Night Panorama of the 2017 Aurora Expedition in Alaska, St. Patrick's Day and lit up the Sky Green for us!
Thank You Spaceweather for your Awesome Aurora alerts & forecasts!!!
We had
-32F Temps and slight wind, cut right through us Last Night! Very Brutal Temps!!! Cable releases wire freezing rigidly...batteries draining down quickly...so glad I have many spares!
We were Prepping our observing site & waiting for our new 2017 Aurora Hunters to arrive in a few days for our annual workshop, we got a nice 4 to 5 hour display last night...here is a 2 pane Panorama I captured with a Canon 6D & 14mm F2.8 lens. 10 second exposure. You can see the Milky Way cutting diagonally across the center with Vega & Lyra on the right & the Great Andromeda Galaxy buried in the Aurora on the Left. Stay Tuned more to come!
Best Regards,
John Chumack
