Enjoy owleye1’s Cumulonimbus rodentus comment on my Rat-shaped Anvil Cloud with Virga post id=133484. Amazing that in just half-an-hour this had morphed into the sunset colored anvil which appears below the Crescent Moon in my previous post id=133432. On going through the photographs taken the same evening (01 March), I have found that I also managed to capture the conjunction of the Crescent Moon and Mars which briefly appeared in a gap above the last remnant of that cumulonimbus cloud along with Venus which completed a triangle below (first image). The second and third images provide more colorful glimpses of the Crescent Moon and Venus through earlier gaps in the cumulonimbus remnant. The final image is of Venus on its own before setting behind Christmas Pass. It was so bright that it is accompanied by a star burst without the use of any filter. The photographs were taken using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 camera in night scenery mode. The first and last are 4-second time exposures at ISO 400.
