Details:
I've had this shot in my head for well over a year but last year the ice on the cliffs was to thick and not accessible. It has just become possible to sneak under the ice in one part and have a view North. So after taking guests out tonight in the geomagnetic storm I headed down to a spot on lake Torneträsk. Luckily the aurora was still going as I crawled into the cave. I had to take 3 shots at different focus points which I then stacked to give me a larger depth of field. The swoop of the aurora really helped with the composition. Was very cold in the cave and the noise and vibrations of the ice moving was very spooky! Not sure if anyone has done a 'stacked' ice macro lit by the aurora before :)
