大熊座Ursa Major (Big Dipper)和小熊座Ursa Minor (Small Dipper)
大熊座北斗七星，城市仍肉眼可見，小熊座在光害下肉眼大慨可辨認到北極星 Polaris，和 Kochab。
香港因為緯度關係，除了秋季入黑後大熊座已沉入地平外，其餘三季皆可見到。
北斗星斗柄方向的變化是判斷季節的標誌之一。古籍《鶡冠子》記載：「斗杓東指，天下皆春；斗杓南指，天下皆夏；斗杓西指，天下皆秋；斗杓北指，天下皆冬。」
