Details:
Just after the sun had set, bright iridescence appeared in some patches of high thin tropospheric cloud to the west of Mutare. For about a minute one of these assumed the shape of a beautiful bird (first picture). The second picture shows the setting in which this occurred and includes the silhouette of another bird shaped cloud heading from left to right lower down. The last two pictures are colorful close-ups of patchy and fine streaked iridescent cloud which developed later on. The display which lasted for twenty minutes was photographed using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 camera in intelligent-auto and sunset modes at up to x40 zoom magnification.
