Details:
On the evening of 09 February, an almost Full Moon rose from behind some cumulus clouds in a surreal lilac twilight sky (first three pictures). This was due to a brighter display of similar colors from above the opposite horizon a few minutes after sunset (last picture). The strange hue was caused by fading sunlight being reflected from thin veils of high cloud in the troposphere and possibly traces of volcanic aerosols in the stratosphere. The photographs were taken using a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 camera in sunset scenery mode.
