Details:
We did a short skiing trip into the Lappish wilderness almost 300km above the Arctic Circle with my friends. The nights were cold (-20c) and filled with the most amazing Northern Lights!
Especially the night between 31st and 1st was a mind blowing spectacle!
We saw good Auroras already at 5pm local time (UTC+2), and the show went on whole night. It was like a full night showcase of Aurora forms and colors - green, red, pink, purple, white, arcs, curtains, coronas, pulsing, and at times the whole sky was just glowing green from north to south. On top of that the beautiful triangle of Moon, Venus and Mars were gently sinking below the horizon as the sky was blazing.
What a winter-skiing-wilderness-camping-trip that was!

One of the most beautiful Aurora formations I've seen, and this happened already before 7pm!

The lovely triangle of Mars, Venus and the crescent Moon, setting as the Auroras were dancing above. The Venus was so bright that when the little cloud rolled in front of it, it made it look like a second Moon in the photo!

Our base camp under the big old Scots Pine. This far up north it's living at the edge of it's habitat, and must have seen auroras worth of several hundreds of years!

This is a frame from a time-lapse I did. You don't get to frame the Orion with crazy Auroras that often. At times the coronas looked like lightning bolts!
