Finally tonight some Auroras again here in Finnish Lapland! The past 3 nights had been awful for us Aurora chaser. The weather was so bad that even for the most dedicated ones like me, even driving up to 300km was pointless! So I was really happy to see some clear skies announced for tonight! Before it became dark enough, I noticed that the OVATION model here on this site was showing a broad green doughnut. With no specific spaceweather forecast for today, I thought "better try early this evening"! It completely paid off! After driving for just about 50 km, we found clear skies and some amazing views on the Aurora. The rising moon to the east was a really nice addition to the show! The last picture was taken in front of the firewood shed near the cabin where I live during my winter Aurora chase!
