Details:
Travelling through Chile, I've been visiting some observatories in the Vicuna region, where many of the world's biggest telescopes are located. These photos are from the privately run observatory at Collawara, near the town of Andacolla, that is open to the pubic. At 52% illumination, the moon was quite bright, so I had to wait until 4am when it was below the horizon, to finally capture the magnificent beauty of the Southern hemisphere's star clusters, including the Southern Cross and grandiose Milky Way.
