The website titled today "THE SOLAR WIND ... IT'S STILL BLOWING". At 4:00 PM local time, I took a quick look at the OVATION model, which showed a thick green donut with even some yellow. I ran outside and could already distinguish the Auroral arc above the northern horizon, despite the still very noticeable twilight in the opposite part of the sky. This looked so promising!
Aurora danced very softly until approximately 6:30 PM, never really developing strong movements or outbursts. Despite the bright moon, it was still a really nice show!
After 7 PM, a couple of arcs appeared again, but nothing really strong, and the OVATION model returned to its smallest "size". And finally clouds poured in, so I decided to call it a night and post my pictures here!
A beautiful night again up north in Finnish Lapland.
