Details:
Always a showpiece for the eye, this open cluster has to be one of the most photogenic celestial objects in the heavens. I never realized that there was so much detail in the vivid blue reflection nebula from an unrelated interstellar gas cloud passing near the cluster. I used a Stellarvue 102ED refractor and a modified Canon XS DSLR. The 47 x 5minute stack was acquired over two consecutive evenings with each night having their own calibration frames. The stack was processed using ImagesPlus and PS5.
