Details:
The night of December 25, 2016 was clear and cold, and the seeing was very poor due to a turbulent atmosphere. Sirius was visibly changing color to the unaided eye due to refraction. I took a 6 second exposure of Sirius, pivoting the tripod to and fro on two legs, to capture its changing color during the course of the exposure. The multitude of colors I captured, and the rapidity of their variation was astonishing. I used a Canon 6D at ISO-100, with a Tamron zoom lens set to 200mm, f/2.8.
