Details:
When I imaged the moon a few days ago I afterwards realized I had caught the Lunar X effect. This is an effect in which light and shadow creates the appearance of a letter 'X' on the rim of the Blanchinus, La Caille and Purbach craters. This can be seen along the terminator about 1/4 from the bottom in this image. The X is visible only for a few hours each month.
