Details:
went out at 5 this morning to shoot the ISS with Cygnus flying nearby and looked at the sky path that the ISS was to take. I saw a flash of light then weaker again, then brighter, and then realized it was moving slowly (1/10-1/4 the speed of the ISS). I quickly adjusted the camera with no set-up prep and started taking pics. It flew towards the bright moon where I lost it. Then 30 minutes later the ISS came blazing overhead, with no Cygnus in sight for another 20 minutes after the pass. The UFO was faint but the bright flashes were as bright as nearby stars. The pics were all shot at ISO3200 and f/4 and different times: 36,6,16,and 43 seconds. This was no plane (no regular flashing light, too slow), no usual satellite (too slow and slightly different path), unrelated to the ISS, and kind of freaked me out a little. Any help on an ID?The second pic did have a solid satellite path in it- the UFO is in the upper left. The pic with the moon it is far to the right. Trees are in the last pics for scale- UFO to the far right.
