Details:
On November 13th the moon rose at an angle such that red moonlight reflected almost straight down the Westhafen Canal. Yet another wonderful aspect of this historical moon cycle.
The first two images derive from the same photograph taken with a 12MP smartphone. The images were cropped and downsized, but not otherwise edited for light or color.
The third image from Stellarium was added to demonstrate how a "pocket" camera can actually resolve major surface features when the moon is not overexposed, something I've talked about in previous posts to spaceweather.
