Details:
After hearing of aurora sightings on the other side of the Earth all day, and their intensity, I knew there was a chance that an aurora might present itself after dark. I found a location away from city lights and patiently waited. Sure enough and despite the waxing gibbous moon, the northern sky brightened and the faint movement of pillars and curtains became apparent. The show was short-lived, but well worth it.
Equipment: Canon 60Da, Sigma 17-50mm lens at 17mm, f/4, ISO-400, 30 second exposure.
