Mercury is closing in for a conjunction with Jupiter over the next day. It was about 1.5d above Jupiter this morning, 2016/10/10 07:18-20am cdt (UT 12:19-20), in the constellation of Virgo rising in the Eastern sky. Images with Canon T6s, 75mm and close up 300mm at f/4 and 5.6, iso 400, 1/13s and 1/2s exps. Mercury moved overnight across the 0d line of the celestial equator from north to south. Tomorrow 10/11 Mercury (the messenger planet) will pass less than 1d from Jupiter (the king planet. The SkyXPro charts show the wider field view with stars and graphic constellations.
