Last night the world celebrated International Observe the Moon night, I hope everyone who held an event no matter how big or small, enjoyed the lunar night :-) Our club the Southern Astronomy Society here in Australia holds the event every year for the community, where our members set up there large telescopes and everyone comes along and has a wonderful time looking at the Moon and other celestial objects in the night sky. I managed to have time to show people how I take images of the Moon through my telescopes with a DSLR attached…please see how the six-day-old Moon looked in the sky last night. If you live in the northern hemisphere you may notice that our view of the Moon is upside down to your view! The lunar images were taken through a Meade 8inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope using a Canon 700D camera at prime focus; exposure times were 125th second and ISO 400. There were 20 images stacked in RegiStax6 and processed in CS4. I added the InOMN logo to my Moon image just for fun :-) The other images are of our members telescopes all set up and ready for the event, and also my husband showing a very excited family the Moon through my telescope.
