Details:
It seems like the coronal hole fast stream of solar wind arrived early. Last night (18 September), the Aurora appeared while sailing from Disko Island back to Ilulissat (Greenland). Hard to shoot with the rocking boat, but what a beautiful show above the UNESCO site icebergs in the background! We are so far north here, that Aurora usually appears in the south, which makes it almost impossible to catch Aurora together with the icebergs from land. So it was a dream for me since I heard the boat would be in that area at "Aurora o'clock". With the weather cooperating: what a show! It then continued on land, which allowed me some sharper and cleaner shots. What a night again in northern Greenland!
