Details:
A very clear moonless night in the dramatic mountain land/sea scape of steep mountains in Milford Sound, Fiordland National Park, New Zealand, about midnight to 2am early Wednesday August 31, I was photographing the Milky Way by mountains of about 1400-1900 metres and noticed, as had happened at a similar time the previous night at Lake Te Anau, the camera had detected a red aurora on 4000- 6400 iso and 30sec exposure (f3.5, Fuji XM-1)
