Details:
I animated my red sprite to show how the bolt that created this sprite was so powerful that the flash was seen high into the atmosphere. I used a photo just 2 seconds before the sprite appeared to show how the sky looked just before the sprite and the flash. I used a full spectrum Canon T3 camera with a 50mm lens set to F/1.8 for 2 seconds at iso 3200. The location of the sprite was about 90 Km southwest of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico and it appeared at 1:01am local time or 5:01 UTC. Direct link to GIF: http://gph.is/2bQQLzB
