Details:
The western sky looked spectacular this evening with Venus and Jupiter making a beautiful close conjunction in the evening sky. The sky was so clear you can even see a couple of the moons of Jupiter around the planet. The star close to Jupiter is Beta Virginis (Zavijava) in Virgo, it’s very close to the ecliptic and is often very near to the Moon or planets and is often occulted by them. We are away camping at the moment and I had to work my way around a lot of trees and campfires to capture an image…but I did it :-) Image taken with a Canon 70D camera and a Canon 100-400mm lens set at 190mm, exposure time was 1.3 seconds and ISO 4000.
